The Hayling Bookshop, one of Havant Literary Festival’s partners have scooped a prestigious award and are shortlisted for an even bigger one.
The shop received its prize from Kate Mosse, author of ‘Labyrinth’ and ‘Sepulchre’ after being judged the best independent bookshop in the South of England this week.
Next Monday, 1st June, the national winners of the British Book Industry Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Cambridge and Hayling Bookshop owners Marie and Colin Telford will be there.
The bookshop especially promotes local authors such as Pauline Rowson, Ali Sparkes and Colin Simpson and Kate Mosse herself who comes from West Sussex. In the last year they have backed a literacy campaign run by the News, Portsmouth’s local evening paper and Colin and Marie pride themselves on the personal service they provide to their clients.
The Hayling Bookshop can be found in the Mengeham Road shopping area. Look out for their involvement in this year’s Festival events.
